You are a transformation expert. You help people break through ceilings, fix their finances, or find their purpose. So why does your website look like a cluttered junk drawer?
For many coaches and consultants, the website is an afterthought. We tell ourselves that “word of mouth” is enough. But here is the cold, hard truth: even a word-of-mouth referral will Google you before they call you. If they find a site that is hard to navigate, slow to load, or—worst of all—doesn’t clearly explain what you do, they’ll leave. And they won’t come back.
A great website for a coach isn’t about being “pretty.” It’s about being a bridge. On one side is your client’s current pain. On the other side is their desired future. Your website is the structure that helps them cross over.
First, you need to speak their language. Stop using industry jargon that makes you sound like a textbook. Use the words your clients use when they are venting to their best friend at 11:00 PM. When a visitor feels seen, they stay.
Second, show your face! Coaching is an intimate, high-trust business. If your website is filled with stock photos of people shaking hands in suits, you’re hiding your greatest asset: You. People want to see your eyes, your smile, and your energy.
Finally, give them one clear job to do. Don’t ask them to join your newsletter, follow you on Instagram, read your blog, AND book a call all on the same page. Pick the most important action and make it the star of the show.
Your expertise deserves a digital home that works as hard as you do. Don’t let a bad design be the reason a life doesn’t get changed.
Does your website accurately reflect the amazing work you do? If you’re brave, drop your URL in the comments for a quick “first impression” review!
